Join Jones Auction House curator and art historian Sarah Jones for a quick introduction to abstract art - what is abstraction, how did it begin, and ways to look and think about non-representational artwork. We will pay special attention to the Painters Eleven, a group of Canadian abstract artists who played a critical role in establishing abstraction within postwar Canadian art, through examples of works by Jack Hamilton Bush (Canadian, 1909-1977) and Raymond John Mead (Canadian, 1921-1998) in our current auction.
