Join Jones Auction House curator and art historian Sarah Jones for a discussion of the life and work of Canadian artist, Christopher Pratt (1935-2022). We will look closely at the two watercolour and colour pencil works in our current June Collection auction.

Pratt was a Canadian painter and printmaker recognized for his austere, meticulously composed representations of Newfoundland’s built and natural environments. With a minimalist sensibility and exacting technique, his paintings and serigraphs evoke a restrained emotional (sometimes eerie) register and engage with themes of solitude, memory, and place.
